Faqs

General:

1) Will you play tonight? How long do you play each game?
Yes, instead of asking us if we have a game, please see our schedule at https://adultsoccergames.com/denver/schedule/ . The only time we would not play is if the fields are closed by by the field operator. The schedule has the link for you to check that so you do not need to ask us. If you are on our text list, we will text you if the game is cancelled by the field operator. We play for a minimum of 1 hour but sometimes we play longer depending on the group and field.

2) Do you have enough players? How many player’s are there?
We ALWAYS have enough players. Player numbers vary by weather. General formula for number of players for outdoor games is temperature (degrees Celsius) plus 25.

2a) How do you split the teams/groups? Can I play with my friends?
We usually play on a full field but we may divide into smaller games if we get a lot of players. Every night is different and player numbers depend on the day, weather and temperature. Grass games are smaller. If we have 50 players we would divide the field into 3 smaller games of 7 on 7. If we have only 10 players we would play a 5 on 5 game. In general we have been getting about 30 players and are splitting into 2 games of 8 on 8. We can usually put you on the same team with your friends. We simply divide into even numbers when we make the teams.

3) Do I have to be serious soccer player to join?
No, please ALWAYS keep in mind our sessions and drop-in games are for FUN. We play for fun and fitness. We are lucky to have the crowd we have. Our rules are:
1. This is just for FUN AND FITNESS.
2. We don’t kick anyone. No push or slides.
3. We don’t complain to other players if they don’t pass the ball well or if they miss a goal when a “perfect” pass is received.
4. Those players not complying with 1,2 or 3 should find teams with a different approach.
We hope you can play until you are over 80…..just show up and enjoy.

4) How do I start and how do payments work?
You can get tickets online for any session or game. You can still choose to pay cash at the field but please create an online cash order first so we know who you are. You have 2 choices to register and pay. You can get a 1 game ticket, or get a discount for ordering multiple tickets. If you sign up for multiple tickets, they are good until you use them.

5) What should I wear?
Please bring your running gear and your soccer shoes or running shoes. We usually play on turf so turf boots are better than cleats. Shin guards are not required, but suggested.

6) What happens if the fields are closed?
We play in rain, cold, sleet, and any other weather as long as they let us play on our assigned field. For regular games, if the fields are closed for the rare event like snow, we just play again at the next scheduled game. We do not reschedule games unless it is a non-regular game like a tournament.

7) Are the games for all levels? I’m a 100% beginner, but I want to start playing soccer. Please advise if your games are a good place to start or if you have any other program which would be more suitable.
YES. it does not matter what level you are – the goal of our all levels games is fun and fitness and you would be very welcome to join. We want everyone to be able to enjoy learning soccer in a no-pressure setting. We also have higher level tournaments and drop-in games as you get better.

Drop-in Games (Indoor and Outdoor):

1) What ages can play?
Any adult can play. Occasionally we will try and make a game for a set age group. Just show up if you are not sure. The games change all the time depending on who shows up.

2) I would love to play. How does this whole thing work? do I just sign up and show up or do i have to placed on a team?
You can just sign up and show up. Teams are created randomly at each game, based on numbers. There is no selection process, or separation based on ability.

Tournaments:

1) Can companies ask their players to register individually for the Tournaments?
YES. Whatever is more convenient to each company. If Individual registration is easier…GO FOR IT.

2) Can I add another team?
YES.

3) Is there an age group for Tournaments?
NO. The average age of lots of companies is 35 years old. The older the better, but it is not easy to control at a company level…so… just let the younger players know this is not aggressive …again…just for fun and fitness.

4) How do you figure out the standings?
The tourney is by points. (1 if you loose, 2 if you tie and 3 if you win). After that goal difference.
